On the weekend of May 17, 2010 the Loyalist Fifes and Drums traveled into the Mohawk Valley for the first event of 2010. The New York Power Authority hosted the Lansing Manor reenactment near Middleburgh, New York.

The event was full of great experiences. The Drums enjoyed bacon and eggs cooked over an open fire on both mornings, in addition to a homemade beef stew for dinner. There were four good battles, on some excellent but muddy ground. In the evening there was an 18th century dance, with period music.

The weather was perfect, with warm sunny days and cool clear nights.

Lansing Manor was a great event to knock the cobwebs off and get back into our groove. No doubt it is going to be a good season.
