About Us - The U.E.L. Heritage Centre & Park

Museum at Adolphustown
The Loyalist Fifes and Drums is funded and operated by the U.E.L Heritage Centre & Park. The 72-acre historic site has been open to the public since 1956, and provides a fascinating look at early loyalist life through cultural landscapes, displays of early artefacts and a genealogy research library. On the grounds is a cemetery, which had its first burial on June 17th, 1784, the day after the first Loyalist landing. The museum is in the home built in 1877 by David W. Allison, M.P., U.E. and his wife, Amelia Membury, U.E. In addition to the museum, is Adolphustown Township Hall. Built in the 1860s the Hall is on the site of one of the first Town Meetings in Upper Canada and the first Court of Quarter Sessions in the District.

During the summer months, the park offers some of the area's most picturesque and affordable camping sites as well as Queen Charlotte's Tea Room.

The U.E.L. Heritage Centre & Park is a non-profit preservation project of the Bay of Quinte Branch, United Empire Loyalists' Association of Canada.
